A spreading rhizomatous tufted perennial, Acanthocarpus preissii will generally grow no higher than 0.5 metres, but can spread to cover a large area. White flowers in the autumnal months are followed by beige seed capsules which begin to split in December to reveal the distinctive hard orange and round seeds.
